Wattle I do?

Yes, that is the question, how to while away the hours whilst in lockdown.

The Wattle stamp is from Kaszazz, the baby from Paper Rose’s ‘Snugglepot & Cuddlpie’ “Bush Babies” set. The background was created by inking up an acrylic block with Distress inks, then stamping it out. I coloured images in with watercolour pencils, then added dots of Buttercup & Gold Liquid Pearls for the Wattle flowers.

Below is another card I did using the same Wattle stamp, but onto an alcohol ink background.

Over a week since I came down sick, and now I have just have an annoying cough, which will no doubt linger for months. A good excuse to stay home and play in my craft room anyway. I hope you’re not ‘sick’ of my frequent posting already, haha.

The bird die is from Tim Holtz ‘Feathered Friends’ set siz664433. The wattle & wording stamps were from Stamp-it (no longer available sorry). I put dabs of thick glue over the wattle flowers and applied yellow Flower Soft. The background was created by inking up an acrylic block with Distress inks (Broken China, Evergreen Bough & Mustard Seed), spritzing with water, then stamping it onto white cardstock.

Aussie Kanga’s

In the lead up to Australia Day, thought I’d do some cards featuring our native kangaroos.

stamps: ‘Silhouette Kangaroos’ 6249K from Kaszazz; ‘Acacia Branch’ CO727991 from Couture Creations; ‘Australian Outback’ and both ‘Happy Birthday’ wordings from Stamp-it.

Re-visiting one of my favourite ways to colour backgrounds, using an acrylic block. I love it when the dribbles run over the edges.

I used chalks and watercolour pencils to colour in, highlighting plants with Liquid Pearls.

Below is another card using the same kangaroo stamp, together with an Australian Outback scene (from Stamp-it), but not the same background technique obviously. I applied some Silver Liquid Pearl with a thin paintbrush to the iron roof of the building, and Silver Fab Foil to the wire fence line.
