  • created colour-wash background with ‘Shabby Shutters’ & ‘Tumbled Glass’ Distress inks
  • stamped out yellow moon & blue leaves
  • cut out mushroom & tiny house dies, coloured and assembled. I drew the doors and windows on with a pen
  • stamped out fairy & rabbit in purple ink

Counting Mushrooms

Sometimes I do an inky background that I’m not that enamoured with. That’s why I chose this stamp, which had the mushrooms at the front as a focal point, and the busy pattern covered up and distracted from the background. As soon as I saw this stamp, I thought fairies!

Because the red in the card on the left was so dominating, I stamped my mushrooms out again, coloured them, then fussy cut them out and Magic Mounted them over their counterparts. That also allowed me to tuck some little twigs behind them. I did this with the top card also. The little blue butterflies (on card bottom right) were made with a Fiskars hand punch.

stamps: ‘Counting Mushrooms’ by Crafty Individuals; Fairies & caterpillar by Lavinia stamps; ‘hello’ by Paper Rose; ‘creeping snail’ by Wordsworth (the little snail on red card I hand drew as I didn’t have anything small enough)
