Purple Iris

Sometimes I employ artistic license when colouring flowers, but for those purists amongst you, here is a purple iris. I found this little beauty in the sale box at my local scrapbook store. Very happy with my find. So now I’m just having a play. This is my 2nd card in a trilogy. I used a little Gold Liquid Pearl for the highlights, which is so effective in real life, but the photos just don’t do it justice. Distress ink background; Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac.

Blue Birdy

It’s a bit like groundhog day around here at the moment – eat, sleep, make cards, repeat. I do love making cards, but will be happy when I am feeling better and will be too busy to do so.

This is the sequel to my previous post, being the other bird in Tim Holtz ‘Feathered Friends’ set. Same method for the background too, just used different Distress ink colours (Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage & Crushed Olive).

The bird nest stamp is an old PSX, the gumleaves from ScrapDragon, and I can’t remember what company the ‘smile’ die is from sorry, but know I bought it from the Scrapbook Store in North Perth.
