Apologies for my long leave of absence without giving notice, sometimes life just gets in the way. And you’d think having had that break, I’d come back all refreshed and full of creative ideas, but I find just the opposite is true, that it usually takes me a while for the creative juices to start flowing again. That’s my excuse anyway, for why I had to go out and buy myself a new toy in the shape of this “Honeysuckle Plant” 21201 Paper Rose die. I combined it with an old Stamp-it Kookaburra stamp and a Hero Arts wording for this card. The background and plant were sponged with Distress Oxide inks Bundled Sage, Speckled Egg & Crushed Olive. I used Buttercup Liquid Pearls to highlight plant tips.

This ‘Kookaburra on a Branch’ die (by Paper Rose) is my latest acquisition, though personally I feel his beak is not long enough. I have matched it with their “Gumleaves #2” die. The purple/blue background is from my reject box, a shaving cream experiment gone wrong. I never throw anything away, even if it’s ugly, as it could be just what I’m looking for one day.

It’s November already and Christmas is looming! Thought it was about time I posted some Christmas cards. I am playing with a Christmas “Wreath” theme at the moment. Here are a couple of cards I created with an Aussie flavour.
