A cat and mouse playing chess, how cool is that?! Another set of cards coming up, using the one design, this time a die cut. Starting off in my ‘colourful inky background’ comfort zone.

Torn Flowers

When you find the perfect matching card in your box of scraps to back your stamped image, but there’s a chunk missing from one corner – what do you do? You improvise! I have only 1 full A4 sheet of this yellow colour left in my stockpile, so was very reluctant to cut it up. Instead I replaced the missing corner with another card of similar tone. And rather than straightening the torn edges at the top and right side, I left them as is for a more casual look. Really excited when I found this scrap of ribbon too! It’s a shimmery orange on one side and pink on the other. Quite lovely. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the flowers have been stamped onto ivory card and the folded backing card is pale yellow. Watercolour pencils were used to colour in flowers.
