Mum’s 80th

My dear old Mum is turning 80! Sadly she has been suffering from dementia for the last few years and is on a downward slide. Despite the fact that she can’t remember her children’s names, she does know that we are family and can still recognise her immediate neighbours and a few friends faces. I decided it would be a shame to let such a momentous event pass with a hardly a whimper, so organised (with the help of my sister and sister-in-law) an afternoon tea to celebrate. She was a bit anxious on the lead up, but rose to the occasion once people started to arrive and enjoyed being made a fuss of and all the attention. We took a few photos so hopefully that will help her remember some happy times:)

The house where the other part of my heart lives, with my mother and only son.
