Gumnut Babies in Love

This started as just a scrap of paper that I’d rolled my brayer onto to clean, but I liked the colours together so kept it.

I stamped the gumnut babies (‘Hanging On’ 17313 by Paper Rose) onto it, then a 2nd time onto white card, which I coloured in and fussy cut out. I cut the brayered paper down to fit inside an oval embossing folder (by PortaCraft), then ran it through the Big Shot.

I used a brown pencil to define the inside of the oval. Over the raised areas of the oval pattern, I ran a sponging block with pink/blue ink to colour. I ran the same blue ink around the edge of the card before adhering my layers. I cut out the ‘love’ wording in watermelon card, and the gumleaves in white. After colouring the leaves I glued them into place and added dots of yellow Liquid Pearls for flowers. Then because glue is NOT my friend and I always end up with some in places undesirable, I had to sprinkle some yellow glitter over the card, to give the sticky bits something to hold onto.

  1. Oh how stunning…. I just love these gumnut series of cards, and can’t get enough of them. They really come alive in your cards, so very cute. I love how you use so much of “background” bits and pieces on your cards as well. xoxo
