I love these montage flower designs, you simply colour in and assemble suitable backing cards. With very little strain on the brain, they make for a quick and easy card and the whole process is quite relaxing.

Insect Montage

insect montageOne of my favourite stamps of old. I love insects for a start, and collage style stamps make life easy because everything is arranged for you already and you simply have to colour.

The background card was from my infamous “box” so I have to guess at the colours used on what was once white card – I’m thinking “Evergreen Bough”, “Tumbled Glass” and “Pumice Stone”? Distress Stains. I added a bit of yellow watercolour in places later.

The bugs were foiled in green and blue, and the “A” in the square in gold. Liquid Pearls added for butterfly/dragonfly bodies. Clear film (or acetate) for dragonfly wings, which I then heated to curl, then spread Star Dust Stickles over. I smeared Glossy Accents over the wings of the large butterfly to highlight, but kept it’s colours muted. I tore around the edge of image and sponged with Sepia Archival before fixing to card layers.
