Seahorse Circles

Summer has finally arrived, and with a vengeance! Trying to keep cool creating cards with a watery theme, imagining myself swimming beneath the waves with seahorses (except I usually only get the seaweed).

dies: Sammy Seahorse SD365 by Joanna Sheen; Large Ringlets 98790 by Memory Box; Sea Plants 560-ZZ by ImpressionObsession

stamp: ‘Everything you imagine’ from Stamp-it set062

I simply coloured white cardstock with various shades of blue and green dye spray inks (Dylusions & Distress) before cutting out my shapes and assembling. I used Magic Mount under the seahorse body and also beneath the rectangle the seahorse and seaweed are sitting on. I thought about putting some little fishes swimming through the bubbles, but decided against it as they would just be a distraction from the focal point. I drew the seahorse eye in and added a touch of glitter to his stomach.

These gorgeous curly tailed seahorses (Sammy Seahorse SD365) are part of the signature die range from Joanna Sheen, the seaweed is Spruce Stems CC182 by Scrapping Cottage. I cut the dies out in white card, then coloured them with metallic paints. I adorned the front seahorse with ‘Jazz’ Beadazzles by Suze Weinberg and mixed this with some fine sand for the seafloor. The shells I collected from the beach.
