Sometimes we have to remind ourselves, that happiness is a choice. We can sit down and feel sad or we can get up and dance. Nothing will have changed, except our state of mind… and then everything looks different.

Again, this is the same background technique as the previous 2 posts, I just used a smaller block to ink up this time.

After stamping Damask pattern over the inked area in Blue Violet Archival ink, I added the wording using the same pad.

I cut out the little ballerina die in multiple layers – pale pink for top torso, head and arms; matt white for leggings, which I watercoloured pale purple to tone in with background; textured white card for dress and tutu(2 layers). The top tutu layer, I watercoloured slightly with purple to denote folds in skirt, then pinched card to create mountains adding dimension. Star Dust Stickles was applied to trim of tutu, and a small dot on her headband.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Stamp flower twice onto 2 separate pieces of white card. Tear around edges of one (this will be your card front). Colour other with watercolour pencils and cut out flower heads.
  2. Stamp damask pattern in green ink (Adirondack- Meadow) over uncoloured flower. I felt this was too dark though so dabbed some white acrylic paint over to soften. Dry with Heatgun. Sponge over Crushed Olive & Tumbled Glass Distress inks. Sponge around torn edges with sepia ink.
  3. Colour in flower stems. Magic Mount cut out flower heads into place.
  4. Smear Glossy Accents over flower petals with a paintbrush. Set aside to dry.
  5. Apply touches of white paint to edges of flower petals with a paintbrush. Heat set.
  6. Glue some black Beadazzles near flower centres. Set aside to dry.
  7.  Wrap ribbon around base of card and secure at back. Glue on bow. Assemble card layers.
  8. Gold emboss wording, cut out with circle punch, sponge around edges with sepia ink and Magic Mount at top of card.
