Rusty Cars

This old car stamp is great for male cards. I have added some Crackle Texture Paste in areas prone to rusting on both cars, but feel it worked better with the blue one, as being white it was hard to colour over and blend into the darker brown. I added Glossy Accents to the windscreens and headlights, and accented the metallic bumper bars and grills with silver Fab Foil. And I used up some of my patterned papers! Yay!

Kraft & black is my oft used go-to combination for male cards. It’s simple but it works, and no colouring in is required. For this sample I included a neutral ivory card also. All sponging is done with sepia ink. I added some Glossy Accents to the headlights, silver pen to bumper bar/grill and gold Liquid Pearl dots to background cogs.

Father’s Day Hot Rod

With Father’s Day nearly upon us, thought I’d better post something manly. My poor old Dad has had dementia for many years now and we have finally put him into a home as my mother has been struggling to care for him on her own.  Luckily we found a lovely place that is very close, so I can pop over regularly to see him. He is past the stage of needing gifts bought for him, but he does always LOVE getting a card, especially home-made ones.

This design is very simple, so I stamped it onto an opened out teabag to add some interest to the background. Also my Dad is originally from England and likes a ‘cuppa’ tea, so I thought it appropriate.
