Turquoise – my favourite colour! I have been out doing some gardening, absorbing the beauty of the flowers, birds and butterflies, soaking up the sun. Feels good to be alive. After a few hours I felt a bit hot and tired, so rewarded myself with a plunge in the turquoise clear waters of the pool!

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves, that happiness is a choice. We can sit down and feel sad or we can get up and dance. Nothing will have changed, except our state of mind… and then everything looks different.

Again, this is the same background technique as the previous 2 posts, I just used a smaller block to ink up this time.

After stamping Damask pattern over the inked area in Blue Violet Archival ink, I added the wording using the same pad.

I cut out the little ballerina die in multiple layers – pale pink for top torso, head and arms; matt white for leggings, which I watercoloured pale purple to tone in with background; textured white card for dress and tutu(2 layers). The top tutu layer, I watercoloured slightly with purple to denote folds in skirt, then pinched card to create mountains adding dimension. Star Dust Stickles was applied to trim of tutu, and a small dot on her headband.

“Too much of a good thing is simply wonderful!”

I haven’t made kids cards for a bit and they’re always fun.

“Cupcake” 40-367 by Penny Black; “Wonderful” D-2834 by PSX. I’m pretty sure this is a Mae West quote.

I stamped the girl and cupcake in Jet Black Archival ink onto white card and coloured them in with pencils. Using a paintbrush I coloured the frosting with White Opal Liquid Pearls, then went over it thicker in places (direct from bottle) to create swirls and folds. The cherry was covered with Glossy Accents. When dry, I cut image out and laid onto stamped background card.

The girl’s tutu was decorated with Pale Green Flower Soft. Her wings painted in Glossy Accents, with crystal glitter sprinkled across while still wet. Her crown was highlighted with Silver Liquid Pearls and Stickles.

The background was from my “box”, it looks like Broken China, Dusty Concord and Picked Raspberries Distress Stains (I think).
