Jellyfish

stamps: Jellyfish CRP303 by Stampendous; Tiny Fish from Beyond the Sea set by Heidi Grace

inks: Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Pads; Clear Versamark Pad; Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Re-inkers

papers: Aqua, Jetstream and Morning Glory Bazzill Cards; White Matt Card

accessories: White Embossing Powder; Stardust Stickles; ‘Forever Blue’ Perfect Pearl Powders; Pink Organza Ribbon; Irredescent Cord

tools: Sponging Blocks; Paint Brushs; Heat Gun; Stamp Edge Decorative Scissors

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Sponge the Distress Oxide inks over white card from lightest to darkest, blending as you go. Dry with heatgun. Wet a wide paintbrush with water, then swipe across card back and forth as you move down card. The inks will re-act with the water and you will be left with a swishy pattern (depending on how you used your brush) across the card. I felt this replicated water currents under the sea, which started my design process.
  2. Stamp the jellyfish onto coloured card in clear pigment ink and emboss with white embossing powder. Heatset. Repeat onto some white card scrap and colour in jellyfish heads with pink and blue Distress re-inkers. Cut out heads. Glue the smaller heads into place over main image. Colour frilly tendril from main jellyfish with diluted yellow re-inker.
  3. Turn the main jellyfish head over and run two-sided tape along bottom edge. Cut some pink organza ribbon into strips and attach to tape along with some irredescent cording. Place some Magic Mount onto back of Jellyfish head, flip over and secure in place on main stamped image with ribbon and cord strips hanging down.
  4. Stamp some tiny fish randomly around card in clear pigment ink and brush over blue Perfect Pearl powder with dry painbrush.
  5. Attach card front to pale purple matting, then onto a white matting with two-sided tape. Trim around white card with Decorative scissors (stamp edge).  Attach to pale blue then green folded backing card.
  6. Stamp and emboss wording in white and matt onto white card. Attach to card front with two-sided tape.
  7. Apply Stardust Stickles to circular shapes and bubbles in design. Set aside to dry.
