On the Farm

20170414_141243A card I made for my brother-in-law’s 50th birthday. He’s a farmer. He is also a twin. Always tricky trying to make their cards similar but different. Still working on his brothers.

stamps: Nature ASCRS01 by Stampendous

dies: Covered Tractor #99025 by Memory Box & Antiqua Numbers #658338 by Sizzix

instructions:

1. Stamp images onto white matt card using black Archival pad. Colour shed lightly with pencils.

2. Sponge Distress inks (Wild Honey, Barn Door & Peeled Paint) over card to cover.

3. Put dies through Big Shot machine to cut out tractor in mustard card and numbers in white card.

4. Sponge numbers with ink colours to match background. Dot black accents onto them if desired. Set aside to dry.

5. Sponge around tractor with sepia ink to define edges. Pierce hole in center of larger wheel and insert brown brad. Adhere tractor to front of card.

6. Sponge sepia ink around card edges, especially at base as you don’t want the green to be too bright (this is Australia after all).

7. Matt onto brown card which has been torn across the bottom. I tore mine too long, so tore it again, then it was too short, so I just added the torn bit underneath. Sponge edges with sepia.

8. Attach a strip of black corrugated card across bottom of folded green backing card, then adhere card front to it. I used 1mm Magic mount at top to account for thickness of corrugated card at base.

9.  Fix your numbers in place, overlapping them if necessary.

  1. A great masculine card, Susan.
Once again your colour choice is terrific and the stamps you have used are perfect for a farmer and very Australian outback looking.
