Torn Rose

Another torn background card. Method is the same as previous post for the first step – cut white card the same width but longer than the folded backing card it’s being attached to.

Stamp KaiserCraft small rose pattern all over it in black ink. Stamp Magenta rose square in Archival black onto separate white card.

Tear paper into ‘v’ shapes and sponge with Seedless Preserves Distress ink. Edge with Dusty Concord, then glue down overlapping slightly. It is always better to sponge lightly, you can add more colour if it needs it, but it’s hard to take away once applied. I was perhaps a little zealous with my colouring as the panels weren’t as distinctive as I would have preferred them.

Lay purple organza ribbon along bottom 1/3 of card and secure at the back. Stamp wording onto scrap of white card, sponge with Dusty Concord, matt onto black card and super tape into position over ribbon. Attach card front onto matting of black card, then white folded backing card which has been sponged with Dusty Concord Distress ink.

I coloured the rose in with Seedless Preserves and Shabby Shutter Distress inks using a waterbrush. Dry with heatgun. Sponge edge with Dusty Concord, matt onto black card, then Magic Mount into position. Lastly I ran some Ballerina Liquid Pearls along the tips of each rose petal. Set aside to dry.
