Teabag Art

My first attempt at teabag art. It’s not that hard, so have a go! Worse thing that can happen is you stuff it up. Keep calm, throw it out, and make yourself another cup of tea 🙂

NOTE: if you go to my facebook page, you can see a slideshow of some other cards I have made with teabags. This will also be the theme of my first monthly “Coffee Club” group starting in September (see page on ‘Classes’ for details).

1. Firstly drink your cuppa tea

2. Save your tea bagteabags closed 1

3. Dry them out (this may take a few days depending on the climate)

4. Empty teabag (by cutting or tearing a hole at the back depending on the shape of bag. You’ll find some tea leaves want to linger)teabags open

5. Iron your teabag (I placed my iron directly onto them, but you may prefer to place the teabag within the fold of a hanky or tea towel, or between two pieces of paper)

6. Stamp and colour your teabag. The paper of the teabag is designed to take water, so is easy to work with. I used Distress markers and a waterbrush to colour fuchsias and hummingbird, than added touches of Liquid Pearls to highlight. Assemble rest of card.

  1. Love this card, and have now enjoyed two cups of tea “just so I can give it a try”….. You make it all sound so easy and look so wonderful that I just have to give it a go as well.
