Perky Poppy 1

When buying a new die, I like to explore all the possibilities of its use. This is the first of a 3 series post using this Perky Poppy die #98762 from Memory Box.

For this card, I cut the poppy out in cream card, and again in a patterned paper (sample shown is from Bo Bunny). Ensure your paper has a small pattern, or the design will be lost when cut up. I then just placed the cut pattern pieces inside the cream framework. I curled the petals slightly first and used Magic Mount beneath the larger pieces.

I sponged the stems sparingly with sepia ink and coloured the leaves & bud with watercolour pencils. Apply dots of Copper Liquid Pearls to stamens. Set aside to dry.

Added some strips of torn paper from my ‘scrap box’. Just play around till you find a combination that you’re happy with. I changed my mind on the darker blue paper and added some more music notes instead.

Stamp ‘love you’ wording (Stampin’ Up) in black ink.

Sponge around card with sepia ink and assemble layers.
