Harvest Moon

Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight

Red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning

stamps: Nature’s Paintbrushes 40-441 by Penny Black; Thinking of You F3926 by Hero Arts; Moon by Lavinia Stamps

inks: Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade & Barn Door Distress Re-Inkers; Jet Black & Sepia Archival Pads; Silvery Shimmer Delicata Pad; ‘Perfect Pearl’ Perfect Pearls Mists

papers: Watercolour Paper; Raven Bazzill Card; Orange & Cad Yellow Mi-Teintes Cards; White Matt Card

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Apply water to rectangular area of your watercolour paper with a wet paint brush. Put drops of re-inkers onto a palette. Pick up inks with wet paintbrush and apply them to the wet area of your paper in a wide sweeping motion, going from light to dark as you move down the card. Set aside to dry naturally or dry with a heatgun.
  2. Stamp the moon onto scrap of white card with silver pad. Cut out shape with circle cutter or scissors. Sponge some of the yellow ink (Fossilized Amber) over. Sponge around edges with sepia ink. Curve the edges down slightly and mount onto card.
  3. Stamp plant image in black ink onto card, ensuring some overlap onto moon.
  4. Tear around edges of watercolour paper and attach to backing layers of cards.
  5. Stamp wording onto strip of orange card in black ink. Cut wedge out of right side to replicate banner shape. Sponge around all edges with sepia ink. Place 2 small squares of Magic Mount under length of strip. Secure banner with two-sided tape flush left at base of card, again in the middle and at end so the banner is like a wave going up and down.
