English Rose Bouquet 2

A little softer than my usual style, but it was hard finding paper with a small enough pattern to put behind the roses. For this card I:

  • cut out the rose die (English Rose Bouquet #99139 by Memory Box) in white card
  • then traced around each flower head onto patterned paper and cut out
  • glued these behind relevant sized rose head
  • glued pearl into center of each rose
  • sepia wash over leaves
  • stamped wording in sepia ink (For You from Stamp-it)
  • sponged edge of card with sepia ink and assembled layers

As I wasn’t 100% happy with my first sample using this technique, I re-did it using a plain card colour behind the rose heads. I then added some shading using watercolour pencils and a waterbrush. I had planned to make the roses all the same colour, but got carried away as usual. I just love colour! The leaves are a very pale green.

This is my favourite colour combination – peach and aqua. The pattern card is from My Minds Eye – ‘Sweet Little One’. It’s stripey on one side and plain aqua on the other. I added a strip of aqua lace as well to soften the look.

Happy Birthday stamp is from Stamp-it, inside a Collections book plate attached with green brads and Magic Mounted onto card.

Bazzill cards used: Adobe & Pinecone
