Peaceful Fairy

20161013_121237

Summer has arrived with a vengeance! What a day to pick to have my clearance sale – the garage was sweltering. Could have used a few sprinkles of snowflakes:) Thanks to all those who attended, it was a successful day. Off to the beach tomorrow, then will try to finish off my Christmas cards. December next week already!

stamps: Magic of Christmas 4363L by Penny Black; Peaceful Wishes 4579C by Stamp-it

inks: Jet Black Staz-On Pad; Clear Versamark Pad; Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans Distress Pads; Picket Fence Distress Stain; Brushed Corduroy Distress Re-inker

papers: White Matt Card; Silver Foil Board; Powder Blue Bazzill Card; Clear Film; Frosted Film TH93048

accessories: Silver Embossing Powder; Stardust Stickles; Crystal Glitter; White Sharpie Pen; Ruby & Opal Liquid Pearls, Green & Grey Texter; Pink Chalk

adhesives: Glossy Accents; Two-sided Tape

tools: Waterbrush; Paintbrush; Heatgun; Sponging Blocks; Scissors; Paper Towel

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Sponge white card with Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans Distress Pads using sponging blocks to blend colours, starting with the darkest at the top and fading out to white at the bottom of the card. Spritz some water into your hand, pick some up on fingers of your other hand and drop randomly over blue coloured card. Blot immediately with paper towel. The water will bleach the colour from the blue ink, leaving behind white blotches resembling snowflakes. Dry with heatgun.20161010_143146
  2. Stamp Fairy onto card in black ink. Squeeze some Picket Fence Distress Stain onto plastic palette, pick up with a dry paintbrush and colour in fairy’s dress. The effect will be subtle. Colour holly in her hair with green texter. Put drop of Brushed Corduroy re-inker onto palette and colour in fairy’s hair with it using a waterbrush.20161010_144158
  3. Affix small section of clear and frosted film together ensuring you push out any air bubbles. (I used scraps left over from another project as you don’t need much). Stamp wings only onto frosted side of film with black Staz-On pad. Cut out 2 top wings separately. Heat wings with Heatgun to curl them slightly. You can mold them into desired shape while still warm and they will set like that when cool.20161010_150303
  4. Smear Glossy Accents around edges of wings (of stamped image on main card) and sprinkle in crystal glitter whilst still wet. Place 2 frosted wings into position while Glossy Accents are still wet to set.20161010_151052
  5. Highlight decorative snowflakes with dots of Stardust Stickles and tiny snowflakes with white Sharpie pen. Use the pen also to emphasis lines of fairy’s dress and shoes.
  6. Dot Ruby Liquid Pearls as berries around holly garland in fairy’s hair and Opal Liquid Pearls along base of dress.
  7. Apply small smudge of pink chalk to fairy’s cheek. Scribble grey texter onto plastic palette, pick up with waterbrush and create shadow (puddle) at base of fairy.
  8. When everything is completely dry, stamp “Peaceful” wording in clear Versamark pad and emboss with silver embossing powder into bottom left corner.20161013_121117
