Blue Gumnuts

Breaking away from my theme of birds this year with this card. I bought some stamps off a lovely lady a few weeks ago. They belonged to her 92 year old mother who sadly is unable to continue her hobby due to failing eyesight. This was one I didn’t buy as I already have it. It is an old favourite of mine as it is simple but effective, so when I got home I had to take it out and reacquaint myself with it. I sent her the card as a thank you.

To make: I simply stamped it out twice in dark blue without re-inking in between, to create that shadow effect of the 2nd stamping. On a piece of scrap paper, I then stamped it out again in a light blue ink and cut out the top leaf only. I folded the leaf down the center to create a slight ridge, then glued it into place over darker blue version. Using a thick glue, I applied gold Flowersoft for flowers. When dry, shake off any excess back into pot. I then added dots of light blue Liquid Pearls around flowers. Set aside to dry before assembling backing cards. I gold embossed the Christmas wording at top.

stamps: Gumnut Brush 3745E; Christmas Mini 3044B both by Stamp-it Australia

Probably won’t get the chance to post again now till after New Year – so Merry Christmas everyone! Hope it is a safe and happy one 🙂
