  1. Stamp bride in black StazOn ink onto ivory card. Paint skirt and headdress with white acrylic paint. Paint top with Pewter Liquid Pearls. Set aside to dry. Reg leaves 013
  2. Cover top with clear Distress Crackle paint. This will dry clear and shiny (and cracked of course). Cover skirt with Kroma crackle gel. This goes on clear, but will dry an off-white matt. The thicker you apply it, the more obvious the cracks. Spread crackle gel around edges of card in thinner layer using palette knife. Set aside to dry. This may take a 1-3 days. Reg leaves 012
  3. Sponge card with Antique Linen Distress ink (going around bride). Sponge edges (going in a little) with Sepia Archival ink. Apply a little Brushed Pewter Distress Stain, blending in with a wet paint brush if needed. Sponge edges only with Potting Soil Archival ink.
  4. Position and stamp wordings of choice with the aid of a t-grid. Reg leaves 010
  5. Apply glue to bouquet area and using tweezers, place single cut flowers from ribbon edge into position. Apply dot of Silver Stickles into centre of flowers and set aside to dry.
  6. Cut out frame in brown card. Run Silver embossing pad around inside edge and emboss with silver embossing powder. Run pad over frame and around outside edge randomly and emboss with silver powder. Mount with black magic mount over bride image.
  7. Attach finished front of card to silver matting and brown backing card.

One Wedding Dress – Delicate Blush

extra brides 003extra brides 002Encapsulating the delicate beauty of the blushing bride in all her fragile glory.

This was the first card I made of this design, but was getting frustrated with it and ran out of time, so ended up going with the simpler version as shown below for my class. Still needs a few things tweaking on it – but I’ve moved on to other things now so will probably never happen. Thought I’d share it anyway.

I specifically chose vellum to stamp the bride onto, as being transparent means that you can reverse the image to face the other way if you like. Also tore the pink card under wording so you could see the multi-layers beneath, creating the illusion of softness and fragility. Of course I forgot all these things in my rush to finish a quicker, simpler version. Had also intended the green tag to be a bookmark that could be removed.

  1. Stamp bride onto vellum tag with black StazOn pad. Place mouse pad upside down on table top and place tag on it. Turn tag over and create a shading effect by dry embossing the skirt and veil area with a stylus tool. Colour in bouquet with peach Spectrum Noir pen (ensure you do this on the back also, or the Spectrum Noir ink will re-act with the StazOn ink). Stamp bride bodice onto thin Magic Mount sheet. Cut it out and attach into place over bride’s bodice on vellum tag. Edge tag with Fushcia StazOn pad.extra brides 004
  1. Stamp flourish image in top left of patterned card in black Archival ink. Stamp “Amour” wording into centre with same pad. Tear across bottom of card underneath wording. Sponge around outside edge with Sepia pad. Attach to peach coloured base card. Sponge around peach base card also.
  2. Position green tag into desired position on front of card (but do not attach yet). With the aid of a t-grid and vellum sheet, line up flourish on main card with green tag. Move away from main card and stamp flourish onto tag. Do the same with the wording. You can now attach green tag onto main card. The flourish and wording should line up.
  3. Attach vellum tag over green tag by means of Magic Mount on bride’s bodice. Glue pink ribbon bow to cover hole at top of vellum tag. Add dot of Fruit Punch Stickles to cleavage line of bride’s bodice and also to top of bouquet.

extra brides 012

The following two cards using Stamp-it’s Elegant Bride 3207F were not in last months class. I only designed them after the class had finished upon gaining inspiration from the scrap paper left behind on the desktop. That’s often the case with me. Look at a few ink splotches and see all sorts of things, ha, ha. I hope they provide you with some inspiration too! They are the only cards with multiple stampings of the bride.

  1. Photocopy dictionary page (with appropriate wording) onto white reflex paper. Stamp bride in black Archival ink into centre, then again randomly around.
  2. Stamp bride again onto scrap of white card in black Archival ink. Cut her out. Colour in her bodice and bouquet with pencil colour of choice. Using a paintbrush, smear Glossy Accents over skirt and sprinkle crystal glitter over whilst wet. I concentrated the glitter more at the top of her skirt, petering out towards the skirt hem. Set aside to dry.  extra brides 016
  3. Stamp flourish (from Stampin’ Up) in black Archival where desired onto dictionary paper. Sponge Distress pads Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry and Evergreen Bough over paper with a sponging block until roughly covered. (*optional – tear along edge. I did this as I wanted to get rid of words at the bottom which I felt detracted from the ambiance of the card).
  4. Attach dictionary paper onto layer of aqua, then yellow cards and finally onto pink backing card.
  5. Glue now dry bride into place over image on main card. Attach diamantes to centre of flourishes.
  6. Cut out sizzix label shape in white card and stamp Penny Black Wedding Day 2002D wording into centre in black Archival ink. Sponge with complimentary Distress inks. Attach diamantes to decorate and magic mount into place on card.
