Birds on a Wreath

Thought I’d better make a start on my Christmas cards. Just playing with this Penny Black die “Birds on a Wreath” at the moment. In the pink sample above I have incorporated some Alexandra Renke dies also.

In this green and copper sample, I embossed the Christmas script background in copper, overlaying the die, cut out in gold paper. I cut out the bells a 2nd time and mounted them over the originals once I’d dry- embossed them. The birds I also cut out a 2nd time in scraps of rust and mustard cardstock, gluing into place and adding wings.

For this blue sample, I cut out the die in white cardstock and coloured it in with watercolours and pens – a bit time consuming, so doubt I’ll be making many of them. The bells and birds I cut out a 2nd time, colouring in the birds and Magic Mounting all into position. The background was just a scrap I had laying around from another project that I re-purposed.

Well that’s all for now, all the best with your Christmas card endeavours! I found this die (much as I love it) a bit busy, so may try some de-constructed versions of it next 🙂

Usually at the end of every year I have a little clear out of my craft things (as invariably I have bought new things during the year and need the space). This year I have joined in with the Garage Sale Trail being held on the weekend of the 19th & 20th October. I will be doing both days from 9am – 2pm on the Saturday, and 9am – 12 noon on the Sunday. So along with craft products there will also be an eclectic mix of household items and knick-knacks. I will also be selling off many of my hand made cards for just $5 each.

So join the TRAIL on garagesaletrail.com.au and I hope to see some of you that weekend!!

My address is 10A Prinsep Road, Attadale WA (rear block)

I will post photos closer to the time, once I have set up. Any questions feel free to email me at artatticstudio@gmail.com
